Linn Drum Custom Samples EPROM Programming

Many old drum machines like the Linn Drum are sample based. They use sounds that are stored digitally on microchips, called EPROMs. It is possible to change the sounds by swapping out the factory EPROMs with ones that have your own custom data burned into them. In this video we are showing you how to do this, what to use for it and how the Linn Drum sounds when you use these new sounds.

HY-Plugins RPE2 Euclidian sequencer

The RPE2 from HY-Plugins is an instrument plugin, that you can use in your daw. But it does not make any sound, it is a 8 track midi sequencer plugin. It has two different sequencer engines, Grid and Euclidean. In this video i’m showing you the Euclidean mode. We create patterns for drums and percussion in Presonus Studio One 5 and create a melodic pattern using Apple Logic Pro X 10.5

Behringer 2600 patching episode 2: Percussion

The Behringer 2600 is an ideal synthesizer to experiment with sounds. In this second patching video, I create a percussion sound that can be tuned and tweaked to taste. It started with the idea of a bongo sound in mind, but as it progressed it became more of a metallic ‘steel drum’ sound. No problem, this way we can use it in even more sunny music productions!

Behringer 2600 Patching episode 1: Panning

This is a panning patch sound built with the Behringer 2600. Normally the outputs are dual mono, but with some patching you make it sound in stereo, to give it a wider sound. The final setups are called ‘Pannaman 1’ and ‘Pannaman 2’.
